Hi guys,

I have just purchased a special build defender that has roller shutters installed in the back.

I want to convert it back into a standard defender back, but the shutters extend down into the tub.

Has anyone done an in-convention like this? Is the only option to change the entire tub?
.... Or has anyone an easier solution?

Thanks in advance

Chris

Thanks for the offer ratty, I'll give it some thought.

I've got the roller shutter door off an ex AA 110 csw. One day I'll get around to fitting it. I do need to do some modifying to it as I want it on the drivers side and not passenger side as it is currently set up to fit.

Well the upper part looks easy enough - sheet of ally and a bucket of pop rivets should do it.

Now the cut out in the tub could be more fun. A decent panel basher could knock up (hah!) a shaped piece to fit the hole. You could then fit it in place with hinges and a lock so that you had an exterior accessible storage compartment (with a box behind it obv).

Even better, fit a remote release so they flop open, with a couple of rockets inside. Scare tailgaters!

I'd have thought it'd be easiest to swap sides and tub .. that's the beauty of Landrover to me, it can be anything you want it to be.

Just takes effort and money .. ;)
