Anyone been to the car museum in Gaydon? Was thinking of taking my nephew. Is it any good?

No trip to Scotland :( Have been kidnapped by the rellies in the southeast and not too keen on roughing it in a tent in this weather. Heading south west on Monday.

PM me have some nice places to go and avoid the **** holes

In two weeks travelled a total 4,845 kilometres.
The journey Italy-UK-UK-Italy cost 600 euros in petrol
French motorway there n back cost 140 euros
Swiss motorway cost 40 euros
Ferry Calais-Dover-Dover-Calais cost 110 euros

Petrol in Italy costs 1.70 euros per litre
In France 1.60 on the motorway, 1.50 off the motorway
In Switzerland anything from 1.80 to 2.0 euros per litre
In GB 1.65 euros per litre

I've always done it through Austria, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium and would not do the journey through France again. Partly because I only meet the rude French people and mostly becuase I can't stand tunnels and the 17 kilometre long San Gottardo in Switzerland is a nightmare in a Defender - I thought I was going to suffocate and nearly threw up towards the end (yes it was that bad).

Thanks for the support

glad you back safe :D

No! I couldn't face doing the Chunnel either. Prefer being suspended mid air on a viaduct or tossed about on a ferry :) I think I maybe a tad claustrophobic

Shame you couldn't get up North, but hope you enjoyed yourself whilst over here anyway!

Interesting to see that whilst we moan about running costs, we're still mostly a bit cheaper than many places!!

It was so wet Paul I didn't dare go camping! If it had been normal English weather with a bit of sun followed by a bit of rain I was looking forward to roughing it around a few UK campsites. I'll definitely be doing it again though next year if I can.
