whats the best presure to run at 215/65/16 bit conused my handbook and haynes both say different things also 190/80/15 which i have on my commercial landrover many thanks

215/65/16 ; 26psi on 1.8 freelander for normal driving. Originally was 30psi but the tyres went out of shape a bit.

Stand back and wait to be corrected.

A bit off topic but my OH was complaining all the suspension on her pajero was nackerd so I had a look. suspension was fine but she did have all her tires infalted to about 110psi

I cant believe she survived 2 days driving without them blowing, so im guessing there is some leeway as far as tyre pressure goes ???

What she use?A lorry pump?To get a tire to burst is quite hard they have a high safety margin manafactured in but dont rely on that

Tyre size 215/65R16.
Tyre pressure cold 30psi -2.1 bar front and back 4 Passengers and luggage.
Full load & towing Front 30psi - 2.1 bar Rear 44psi 3.0 bar. :car:

lots of conjecture about what the various books and manuals say, but trial and error will find you a pressure that suits. On my td4 commercial, 35 psi all round seems to suit it best, but each one is different, depending on the driver and the load you are carrying

good luck

me an bruce run ours at 35 psi too,...mind you wiv all is kit we need to!!!:crazy_driver: ......................

I seem to remember LR issuing a missive about five years ago as regards tyre pressure reduction from 30 to 26. However, depending on where you go, you will get either answer or something completely different. . I get even wear at 26 which I didn't get at 30. However it would be handy to know the official pressure for legality.
Anyone got a transcript of original info?

put the car on a flat tarmaced bit of road. place a cgalk line across the tread. trive the car about 50 feet and look at the line. if it is still there in the middle, then tyres are underinflated. if it is still on the outside of the tyre its overinflated. adjust tyre pressure by a small amount and repeat until line is removed across the whole width.

this only works for unworn tyres.

110psi (7.5 bar) that's the pressure I put in my racebicycle tires. Just for info. that's hard.:D
