My recently PURCHASED, 2002 FL GS Auto TD4 currently wears 205 70 15 's. Are 245 70 15's too wide to contemplate as replacements?
Been offered some with more tread on than current tyres.
No point buying if there'll be significant rubbing issues.
I've ordered both an Owners Handbook AND Haynes, but nothing to refer to until they're delivered.
Many thanks,
Mike.

Dunno for sure, but I'd imagine they would not fit.

I don't think its a common tyre size either, but have a search people are always asking about different tyre sizes.

They'll have a much higher sidewall - probably ruining the gearing if nothing else! They'll be 8.4% taller - you may find that makes the car feel sluggish and screws the economy.

I wouldn't go there, personally.
