Basically I have just bought an RRC, however it is 15 miles away and doesn't start (needs new dizzy) and as you can guess no tax, no MOT. I have a friend who has a fixed bar I can borrow, but someone said to me that you can't use a fixed bar as the RR has no tax, MOT or insurance as it's technically OTR.

So if someone could clear the water a bit would be greatly appreciated.

Where abouts are you? could you not hire a trailer?
I would just tow it myself as its not that far but thats my just me.

Yeah I was thinking of just towing it as my mate dad runs a garage and if it's being towed to a designated place - that's ok apparantly.

But only other thing is she's an auto and I've heard many people say don't tow an auto as the box over heats, it can turn the gear box into iron filings ect. But if I put the box selector into neutral and take it from P to N everything should be fine? It is less than 12 miles it needs towed for anyway.

And with regards to the trailer, bar is free, the only places that hire trailers and that in Inverness want to charge me for a full weekend for a 15 minute tow as I'm picking the Rangie up at 7pm on Saturday.

I actually had a chat with old Bill about this, and what everyoneelse says is true, need tax and test to tow.
As for a garage/scrappies the rules must be slightly different.

disconnect the propshafts to save the box ;)

if your in/around inverness and its a solid bar id tow it sticking to backroads - and certainly not over the kessock !

id "book" an appointment at your mates dads(ie just speak to him about whit your doing) garage just incase of any hicups on the way ;)
