well ive been on here reading numerous times and the first ive heard of you!, your answer to the 'newbie's question' was a load of bollocks! he only asked a simple thing and you bombard him with ****! how the f**k does anyone gain anything from that? wife swapping? as to your posting! i can imagine!!!
people would have to move on and ask someone else,
Waister:p

Or in your case, boyfriend swapping. Whole new meaning to 'was a load of bollocks'
:lvkiss-106:****er:D

just thinking of poor dude that asked a simple question!
he certainly got a simple answer!!
:eek:

Swings and roundabouts if you ask me..........his 1st post was ok albeit frequently asked, but one swear word that wasn't even aimed at him personally, but rightly or wrongly, at his terminology and he kicked off.

What happened next was inevitable.....What else did he expect?

If you go onto ANY forum (let alone this one :eek:) and immediately start slagging long standing members you WILL get burned :doh:

Just re-read and actually it was YOU and Black Vulcan that kicked off 1st :doh:

Up til that point he was getting some reasonable answers :rolleyes:

you still have not answered my questions ?

All you can do is type utter childish nonsense that makes no sense to anyone but you and your sociapathic traits.

Yet another jewel of an insult from you .......waister...how ever will I be able to top that one :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Try reading some of the forum posts and understand the humour before you type.It WILL help you.

Well, I'm glad I'm now fully informed of the pros and cons of Discovery ownership.

I just can't abide these negative vibes - the answer to your question is:

1. Post 2002 Disco II's are better in terms of build quality than 98-2002;

2. Chassis have a tendency to rot out, particularly on the rear half;

3. A stamped up service book is not enough, to show the CAR has been well looked after. You need receipts to know what was actually done;

4. Autobox cars drive very nicely but if towing is envisaged do a test with your trailer/caravan before buying;

5. If you are going to do your own maintenance, get a Hawkeye or Nano Evo diagnostic device;

6. Mileage doesn't seem to hurt these cars at all. My last TD5 auto had 165,000mls on the clock and still drove perfectly.

In sumary, good cars, NEED preventative maintenance to keep them running sweet, spare parts are relatively cheap.

Hope that helps.

Thats because he is a child. Waister - come on its waster, at least have the intelligence to come on a site and spell correctly you little ****wit.

After all you ask a dumb and meaningless question which is so ambiguous that it can not be answered simply.

Besides anyone on this site already has a Land Rover and this many members (that is members of the forum NOT member as the tiny, yet unused piece of penis meat you hold all the time whilst giggling) cant be wrong in that it is a good all round UTILITY VEHICLE and not a ****ing car.

Now **** off back to Clio land and suck your bro's dick this is man's territory.:D

Oh and by the way, these little things mixed amongst words etc is called puntuation.

Ok, I still consider myself a newbie. Before I posted on here, I read a LOT of posts, and came to the conclusion that if I was going to ask anything, I needed to use the search functionality to death first.

Long standing members are bound to get ****ed off by the same questions over and over again, I know I would... I've posted up a couple of times with issues I've had, and had some helpful replies back, for which I'm grateful.

At the end of the day, if you walked into a room of mates that you knew, and you started throwing around insults/banter, you'd get some back, and it would all be fine, as that's what you do with your mates. If you walked into a room of strangers and started doing the same, you'd probably be met with a similar response to what's happened here. Regardless of 'who started it', you just wouldn't do it in 'real life'.

Anyway, if the OP is still looking in, I've had a Disco since February this year. I've not done many miles in it for two reasons.

1. I bought it as a toy to get muddy at the weekends.
2. It spent nearly six months with a grinding noise and I didn't have the knowledge to identify/fix.

I've always said I want to learn more about the mechanical side of vehicles, now I'm getting my wish.

All that said though, there is something about Land Rovers that you can't quite put your finger on... (a mate of mine said this to me once, and I thought he was mad :doh:)

I did actually hear myself out loud the other day suggesting to my wife that if/when my current car dies, I might get myself a newer Disco as a day to day vehicle. Has anyone got a spare straight jacket??!! :D

Amid this swirling storm, go to the center of yourself and be still. Recall the cycle of the Way Not Way and do not be ruled by intentions or thought. Centered action is the course of a true man.

If attacked, yield to the attacker like a bending willow by a windy river enough to use that attacking energy in your opponents defeat.

Often when one believes he has no need of something, he receives it in baffling quantities and when in want of something he never finds it.

Peace. Be still.

meaning ?

Well, meaning exactly what I said in my original post. That 'some' members seem to let the forum down by being a tad too aggressive and overly sarcastic towards newer members. It's only my opinion, and the whole point of forums is to get a diverse range of opinions, so I expect a lot of seasoned members to disagree here...........but I am saying it as I see it.

Yes I do see some new people coming straight on, and their first ever post is 'What tyres.....' etc etc, which is frustrating, and they obviously haven't searched at all. But its quite common to see sarcastic and pointless comments to reasonable questions, by senior members. It just makes the forum seem very 'clicky' and makes newer people look stupid. I have never owned a LR until now, but I know my way around most vehicles, after doing everything from repairing bulldozers to building custom choppers for a well known custom bike builder in the states. But I have needed to come on here for technical advice, which I have very gratefully received, but I feel that I have had to tread very carefully for fear of being made to look a ****.

Thats basically what I mean.......and now I wouldn't be at all suprised if some posts.........'....Well take your piece of **** chopper and cruise on back to the good old U S of A you ****ing gay biker ****....' Get my drift?
