Hi all, I'm new here and looking for some advice.

Looking at disconnecting/removing the EGR on my TD5 ('99) and gave up at the weekend (temporarily) on trying to undo the cap heads where the blanking plate will fit. These two bolts are rock solid (not applied WD yet) and feared them both shearing in situ.

I've contemplated having a spare manifold to hand before attempting fate again but is there an easier way or other recommended penetrant that I could use to help free these two sods off? I ran the motor to operating temp and still no joy. Any ideas? Thanks.

Go down the WD40 / penetrating fluid route before attempting. several applications over a couple days first and then 'ave a go. Worked for me.. a sharp crack and they both came out.
