I have been one of those rare P38A owners that haven't had hardly any issues with my 2.5, after 4 years of ownership I have taken the plunge and bought a 2003 L322.

When I say I haven't had many issues, my parts replacement so far had been,

Discs and pads all round.
Track and drag links.
Tank fuel pump.
RF receiver, found out about this issue after reading about the flat battery issue on this excellent forum.

I normally get my hands and arms covered in greasy mechanical bit's, but the lack of issues with my Rangie has mean't the real only experience I've had has been opening the bonnet to check the oil and service the beasty

I hope my latest purchase will be as good. Not too sure about the absense of a chassis though, as I have become use to them over the past 23 years.

That's good going for a P38 over 4 years, you have been lucky. Hope the L322 is as reliable but 2 reliable range rovers in a row is pushing it a little.....anyway, enjoy the new purchase.:)

Welcome to the wonderful world of the L322. I love mine and so far have had no issues that most 11 year old cars wouldn't think about or have. I've replaced a fuel pump, my CD changer has gone in a huff, changed a couple of ball joints, done an oil change on the gearbox, usual services and put fuel in her to get from A to B. There is the niggle (due to this bloody lot making me paranoid) that the gearbox is going to light my name up.
I touch wood every time I mention how little she has needed but then recall that the Disco1 I had before her was quite obviously agarophobic, as she preferred being in my nice indie's garage, to sitting on my drive. So far in 2.5yrs of ownership my RR has served me well and if the worst comes to the worst and the gearbox goes, she will still have cost me less than 2yrs of Disco1 cost me.

Hi Martynv8, I know what you mean, I started off with a 3 door classic, and did the Perkins diesel conversion after the V8 had a misfire at 240,000 miles, then moved on to the world of the 4 door classics having owned the good, the bad, and the ugly over the past 23 years.

But hey ho that's why we love the brand so much, every one's an individual.

Thanks all, I pick it up on Thursday, then I will get my degree in science to work out all the bits and bobs, especially being that I love to delve under the bonnet.
