I know this has been asked before but i want to clarify somthing. I suspect my new a/t's are not balanced properly from a well known tyre place.

Is there any place around wiltshire anyone can recomend who can balance these wheels properly? Im not confident its been done correctly and I have just read a thread where james martin pointed out that most tyre places arent ip to much when it comes to 4x4 balancing.

Cheers guys

If your "well known tyre place" has all the kit then it's not their fault but that of the individual doing the balancing, off days can happen, so therefore much the same as anywhere else you may wish to go.

My recent 'Goodyear' tyres were fitted by Kwick Fit and very i'm happy but it did take some long strips of weights compared with the one or two the original Goodyears had.

It took an hour to replace the four tyres so it looked like they took time to do the job properly, anyway I would return to your well known tyre place if your sure it is balancing is the issue and not an existing mechanical fault that has come to light by fitting AT tyres.

There does seem to be a very small amount of wheel weights for the type of tyres so i might just take your advice and pop back there to get them to double check. I will double check uj's as said too.

Thank you for the advice

No problem. I take FULL advantage of all the help and advice on here. Better than listening to some 6 year old kid in a technicians outfit in land rover who thinks a distributer is a posh drug dealer!

Just putting it out there, I had a bad vibration on the front of my 200 disco, changed a few bits n pieces and it had little effect. Then set steering box started leaking so changed it for a reconditioned one and it completely cured the vibration, not a rattle out of it

Well its's not tyres, or steering and geometry. So next step is to check uj's. Its stranfe how it only appears at 70 but i guess thats when the vibration overcomes what the rest of the car can absorb.
