Hi guys just bought a td5 auto, and none of the steering wheel controls work, by that I mean cruise control radio controls or the horn, the horn was working originally the others weren't, standard genuine radio fitted, any ideas ? I'm wondering if they all connect on contacts around rear of wheel and they are dirty ?

Horn contacts earth to the steering wheel hub, wires are tiny and break easily, radio and cruise control go through the rotary coupler via a 7 or 8-way connector.

All see-able if you (carefully) remove the air bag, 2 torx screws from behind the wheel.

Like listerdiesel says controls connected to rotary coupler. If it is anything like the coupler on a RRC there is a ribbon cable inside the coupler and over time the cable breaks. If you carefully remove the coupler you should be able to see if the cable is damaged, normally it will be close to one of the connector plugs. I did repair a rotary coupler once but the repair didn't last long, if it is the coupler you'll probably be needing a new one.

BTW be careful taking the coupler off and separating it, they kind of come apart in an uncontrolled manner if you aren't ready! HTH
