Up **** creek.
Having finished my welding I now need 20 sill clips and 20 inner wing clips, looked on ebay and basically I will not have much change left from £25:eek:

Seems a little pricey to me, does anyone know a cheaper supplier? Ive toyed with the idea of re using the old ones and just putting screws in place of the original plastic bungs but it seems a shame when ive put so much effort in to botch it at the last minute.

Cheers:)

Cheers MHM now that seems better:

And I'll have spare if anybody needs any?

I didnt want to botch it and this seems a lot more reasonable. Its just with 3 sprogs birthdays and Xmas just round the corner I really couldnt justify spending £25 on plastic clips. Right now £25 to me is a LOT of money and I need that motor back on the road before the snow.

Until the other day I had managed to keep the entire cost of the job down to about £160, that was until my "mate" told me he wanted £200 for his help with the welding - I thought it was a favour:eek: still when he needs a favour.......

Now I just need to find some bargain inner wing clips, fellas?.....

ffs - they are the same.... - or look for some 4.5mm or 3/16" dia nylon rod and replace the old centre pins with that, cut to length. :D

ce? whats the same? the bits on ebay you showed me? I know, but the inner wing ones are different, they are on mine anyway:

or please forgive me if ive missed something, im in the middle of cookin dinner, getting 3 sprogs ready for school tomorrow, making a fire and sorting out what needs buying from the co op so I am a little distracted:)

well I never thought I would say this but: You are wrong monsieur:) They are smaller than the holes in the plastic trim (just checked), I could put washers round them but then I would be botching LOL.............:D:D:D are u thinking disco2?

tiz a while since i did mine - i think i used Nissan  clips on mine, but then I drilled the holes in the inner wing to suit. hang on...............................

the Nissan clips are 7.5mm dia. the Landy clips are 8mm dia, so they should work - they dont have to be the same size as the inner wing liner holes, but the same as the holes in the inner wing. The liner has clearance holes to allow for allignment.

I think those ones are slightly bigger than mine and therefore will fit, I just went outside and tried one of my sill ones against the arch liner holes, that was too small.

You're right

I have just been to get some for my D1 and the sill clips are different size to the ones which hold the inner plastic wheel arch liners.

I must admit that price seems steep. I think I paid about 20p each and maybe 40 for the wing ones.

Would have to check though, but can confirm that they are not the same size. Strangely I thought that they were too !!! ;-)

true was wondering about that but worried all the **** would get into places it shouldnt, wondered about the addition of some silicone/sealant when installing, same with the sills?

nah, it wont, I did my sills 3 years ago and left the plastic mud holders off, little muck gets in and you can easily see if any mud is sticking anywhere.
as for the wing liner, I used the Self Drilling Screws you get for fastening metal cladding onto buildings, they are cheap and reusable as well as being easy to fix if you've got a 1/4" socket extension for in your drill :)
