Wasn’t keen on the flimsy angle to hold the seatbelt mechanism onto the rear tub below the seatbelt bar. Therefore made some heavy duty stainless ones that fits inside the tub lip and also takes up three rivets.

Bugger it! So far there’s only one thing that’s bugging me and thats the windscreen. There’s slight scratches from some previous knackered wiper blades. Windscreen out, de glaze and order some new glass it is then.
Easier said than done unfortunately, the tiger seal seems to have done its job slightly too well.

Bonnet now ready to be bolted on once the wings are back from paint and fitted, riveted the spare wheel and fitted the new rubber buffers.

Seems to be one step forward and two steps back at the moment, sluggishness to start isnt a faulty glow blug but three ! Plus a burnt out resistor, right then enough with Britcrap time for something else.

Wish they'd bloody hurry up!!!!!
Adrian guess what the wings are back from paint! Considering the s@“t state they were in the three weeks of metal bashing, filler, etch primer, wet and dry has definitely paid off, these things are more enameled than painted. I’m so
Chuffed with the result, thank you
Ben and Lol, guys forever grateful

Whoo hoo indeed, was going to wait to refit the windscreen before bolting on the wings but temptation took hold this afternoon, just couldn’t resist offering them up to the landy and before I could say “ four panel screws please” they were on.

One thing led to another, seeing that things were going together so well the bonnet decided to make a guest appearance. With a little adjustment and a trapped finger it was on.

Front side lights and indicators installed, side vent, foam seal and fan in, brake vacume tank and window washer bottle fitted. Some fiddly jobs completed this afternoon.
Tomorrow jobs include, fitting the front inner wing mud shields, replace bulb in the dash (or could be that the bulb holder has dropped out) wire up the front indicators and side lamps and test.

Front drivers side mud shield fitted, headlamps in and working but need alignment. Rear badge rivetted on. Only a few other bits to do, fit the heater hose from the blower, fit passenger mud shield, fit the glass into the front window and thats about it!

Right then, maiden voyage sprung a few issues, no high ratio, low power.
High ratio fixed after some fetteling inside the transfer box!
Still suffering from a lack of power which sound like a timing issue. First thought is that I have timed it to 15deg but as mine is a 10j engine should it be timed to 16? Some investigation required. Here’s some photos of the maiden voyage down to my dad’s.
