hi folks, i have a 04 disco 2 td5, now the bad news lol, fob doesn't and never has worked since i have it, so i lock and unlock with key, drivers door and all others open no problems there.
A few months back the key would not turn in the lock and to make a long story short the key was snapped in half in the lock, the two halves of the key would work the lock no problem.
But recently now if i lock and unlock the door, the alarm will activate when i open the door and it wont start, fuel pump running all lights and wont even turn over. put nanocom on it and it has no faults but wont connect to bcu at all,
if i leave positive disconnected over night it will start with red light flashing every 2 seconds and alarm will activate (horns disconnected), once i lock and unlock it wont start, without disconnecting battery for hours again. if i drive like this alarm eventually gives up, but wont start up again after locking door. I have repaired door lock so fob/plip key can be used now.
i have tried to use eka codes with fob key but just get single beep each time so not sure whats going on there, have original code on manual,
should i start by replacing bcu? or can i remove alarm and immobiliser completely?
any ideas guys tia
