there's no need to be getting all arsey, peeps would just like to know why using SVO is a bad thing and seeing as your a spanner monkey you appear to be qualified to give that advice

SVO is something outside your realm that we'd like to know...

Rather than continue to try and give me **** over a trivial matter, be up-front, be honest and friendly with the folk, and earn some respect mate...the SVO term might as well be Chinese to us....but being the big international smartarse-knowledge-able man you already knew that it seems farkwit

Again you state an arguement to which you have not backed up with any fact. Again you're ability to preach without the ability to show the knowledge to back up what you're saying shows. As for me being myopic and in a 1% minority. I suggest you learn to distinguish between past and present.

Just to clafify things for you as you seem to have an innability to do this yourself. I said my 300tdi WAS ( WAS is past tense) more economical to run than my 1.7 astra. I currently have a TD5 110.

Although m7 TD5 can and will run on veg oil I choose not to at this moment of time. This is due to the fact that my landy often sits around for weeks on end without getting used. If I'm going on a long journey yes I would but subject to the facts that I know. See now this is where you and me differ in what we have to say. I will use 100% rapeseed oil in my landy. I will only use rapeseed oil with a calorific content of above 900. I will also only use veg oil without anti-foaming agents. I have already stated this at the start of this thread. I also stated WHY I believe in what I say.

All you have done at the moment is slate all those that do use veg oil for being penny pinchers And told us that the cost of diesel in our country is cheaper than petrol. You've then gone on to tell us how bad it is....but haven't bothered explaining why. You've then gone on to tell us how you and all your fellow Roo chasers laugh at us but again still haven't said why.

It seems to me that you actually know nothing at all on the subjects of veg oil and diesel engines and that you are in fact just a troll. Even though it has been pointed out to you on several occasions that you have yet to back up what you are saying you seem unable to tell us why veg oil is bad for an engine.

I've tried to be polite, I've tried to get my point across with some gentle banter, I've tried to point out that you are incorrect and I've tried to give you an opportunity to explain your comments in more detail - however you appear to prefer not to

SVO= Straight Vegetable Oil Or new bought from a store in a plastic bottle and poured straight into a vehicles fueltank.

WVO = Waste Vegetable Oil same as above except it's been used beforehand and then filtered to remove food waste etc.

Bio is WVO, that has been processed and chemically "washed" to remove all food, water, glycerides etc.

You have asked for people to respect you in return for your respect but you chose to slate myself and others too.

It seems to me that the 'facts' that you are stating are NOT 'facts' but instead are your 'opinions'.

Here's some FACTS for you.

1) during it's life cycle Prius's are not as acrbon friendly as a landrover.
2) Seans landy is 20+ years old and is still running.
3) It runs on veg oil which is carbon neutral
4) You have NO knowledge on the subject you are trying to preach to us.
5) We do not have the full facts but the facts we know currently outweigh the facts you don't know.
