hello landyzone users, i have previously been involved in the theft of my last defender 90, and due to recent thefts again in the area i have upped my security. to this i have added a cctv system, the cctv system caught this last night

[nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6hxgfHuu_k"]YouTube - landrover theif cctv at half two sat evening..[/nomedia]

this was at 2:38. please de-note the time diffence ive not changed it since the clocks have gone back. what can i do about this and am concerned they will return this evening. or the early hours of tomorow.

where i live is a place where it is unusual to find people walking down the road as i am in a rural situation. for them to then decide to disapear off into the dark.

please view and help.

many thanks dave.

no im not paranoid this the first of the many situations that have occured over the few months ive managed to capture on cctv. and where i live there shouldnt be any pedestrians walking down. especially at half two in the morning, lately there has been incidents of landrover theft involving a vehicle being towed out of the way, my fathers car only has 1 towing point being easily accesed being the towbar or rear towing eye. and the video quality is reduced because i have filmed it on a phone camera to relay it to youtube.

I can help, I have installed CCTV in the past and could put a decent system in for you that can be used to identify someone, no offence but the quality of your system leaves a lot to be desired, how could you possibly use it for ID purposes.
All I could see was the guy bending down as if he was letting a fart out. Think he's went into the woods for a **** afterwards.

Interesting....Just out of interest.... what made you look through and 'Find' this at that time of the morning? Did you flick through the whole of last night or hear noises etc during the night at around that time which led to you viewing the CCTV?

it looks like a drunk lighting a fag? but i know what you mean m8 i worrie about mine all the time and the first thing i do in the morning is look out the barthroom window to check my defender is still there.the amount of these getting stolen is just getting silly

its not a drunk theres no stumbling or "letting out a fart" , very prescise movements to his actions looking at whether he can get a purchase to tow the chrysler. if he was interested in the car he would have looked inside it.

ones my sisters, ones my mrs's which isnt here full time just for the odd night or two, all the cars are used for work. =/ so i wouldnt say there was too many.

Maybe put a steering lock on it or even a wheel clamp. You could also have a GPS tracking device fitted.

People may say you're overreacting. (I don't think you are) but it's peace of mind that counts here. If you're losing sleep over it, then you need to do whatever it takes.

A friend of mind has an escort, that hes been a project of years, he lives in a small close, and has put a motorbike ground anchor under the car and a big chain round the driveshaft and locked it to the anchor. If someone does try to nick it. will cause damage, but also a bloody lot of noise, and they wont get it away

Well if they are planning to tow the Chrysler out of the way, surely you or your mother would hear them doing that? Keep a baseball bat or a 2x4 next to the front door so you can charge out and scare the **** out of them if they come back. ;):D

update : ive had no visitors as yet and am keeping a consistant eye on my cctv, not to mention sleep depravation but i will promise anyone coming for it there in deeper than they think.
