Hi Everyone.
Just last week my wife pranged the disco into a Fiesta while revering
caused total €1000,00 damage.
I've just managed to settle down a little agreement that i would pay in cash
and not register it through insurance or my policy would shoot right up..
So after this experience i've decided to fit some parking sensors.
I would appreciate if anyone has fitted them before "OEM" if so where purchased and most important the position of the sensors on the rear bumper
I'm also considering fitting a stereo with monitor & rear camera
Two eyes are better than one.
Thanks in Advance

i have parking sensors that i got from theif bay they work quite well and were only £16 :)

I have a parking sensor system too, when I hear a bang I stop reversing!

Fookin ell E1000 damage to a fesspot... was she trying a j turn at the time or did she put the nearside rear on it's bonnet?

:nopics:

i prefer to call that my failsafe back up system :)

Ok I have to admit she's never ever had an accident for 17 years now which is not bad for a woman driver especially how crazy they drive around here near Naples "Red traffic light is an optional IF you want to stop "however in a way i'm P****d Off for forkin out €1000,00 and well...........
I can't take it out too much on her as it's a BIG BIG difference from her little Fiat 500 which we sold for the Disco.
Anyway can someone post some pictures on the position of the Rear sensors if Two or Four type is used.
Thanks in Advance

:jaw: How much £1000 omg and how much damage to the disco ???????

:violent: the wife man

and how much is that going to cost to put right

Bet there was :boxing: and :your_wrong: at your house when she told you....

Now women there :rulez:....about using my truck ....... oh well your dealing with the parking issues and hope these peace at your place now :lvkiss-106:

Have installed fail safe sensors to my beast- has worked everytime and got them free of charge..................... its called putting the kids in the back and they shout when I'm about to hit anything.

Have plenty to share around if anyone would like to install one in the back of their vehicle.

I fitted a set to my defender today (due to the ballast regularly nicking my landy cos when she breaks the chav mobile). They cost me all of £10 on ebay and considering I have a ladder, spare wheel, tow hitch etc on the back of mine, I still managed to get em to work properly.

If you have a D1 the only place the two sensors can go is inboard of the bumper lights.

Thanks everyone for Help and ideas
Yes €1000,00 "Euro " in all mine + the little fiesta €250.00 only for the Disco "part of the rear bumber + some bodywork"
My 4 month son is a little too small to shout STOP when sitting in the rear.
Thanks for the posted pics but has anyone got some for a 2001 model
Thanks
Vince

try typing 'universal parking sensors' on ebay. They will fit virtually ANY car. even a disco or defender. When my rear winch step is fitted I'll be fitting recessed sensors. Until then I've just fitted stick on ones.

Cheers Paul,
Thats the same model as mine with the two bumps on the bumper.
i've noticed the kit for sale has a buzzer and FOUR sensors
So WHERE did you mount the other two?
Would it be ideal to mount them beside the rear indicators to elliminate blind spots on the corner?

Big Big thanks for the Pics "Hey i've noticed there's still snow around WOW"

Vince
