No Tax on Veg !!

Yes I am slightly biased, but I would not even risk my own car Injection Pump for the small amount of effort to convert and even if you make all the bits yourself rather than buying a conversion kit it is still worth doing. A new injection pump will cost between £500 - £2000 depending on make and model of the vehical and new /recon pump.
Running on 100% veg without conversion (even if the pump survives) Will damage the rest of your engine as cold Veg is to thick to acheive the correct spray patern in your engine and this will lead to ring gumming and eventual failure. It's not IF it will fail it's When.
If you want to start on cold veg oil then there are several things you need to do to preserve you engine and pump change the injector pressure and modify the Injector Pump and change the injectors with a modified injector spray patern (this is no easy task)

Personally I think it's easier just to get the engine up to temp and heat the oil to lower the viscosity.

Mike
so yer another one thats joined in the hope of peddling yer wares. there are ways to do it without looking like a spammer on a day off.

we've just had the one about "if you don't change yer oil every 5000 miles yer engine will just self destruct " and now we've gort you telling us that if yer dint buy one of yer kits, or build yer own yer IP will nevver work again and that yer spray pattern will not be right.
yet as pikey point out lots of folk do and they don't have a problem. but still yer insist that a conversion kit is needed.
if yer want to flog yer stuff on here why not contact accy or roy and offer them some dosh fer yer advertising. that way folk will see it and decide if its for them. and you wont look like a spamming ****

Will it work on a TD5???
there have been a few posts on here about biodiesel not being suitable for a TD5 engine so presumably veg wont be suitable either?? does anyone know why this is??

I do know that when the TD5 (Storm) engine was been developed. the ran it continuously for 25,000miles on low grade kerosene to make sure that whatever 3rd world country it was in it would be able to handle crap diesel. But as too whether it'll run veg oil or not I cudn't say

i think thats a bit harsh - would you or anyone buy from him just because he says "i sell veg kit" ?

This forum is a good place for the numerous people who are interested in using SVO to pick his brain and question the kit he sells - and provided that he doesnt spout garbage and become a total spammer i'd not begrudge him the work

If he's a wise man he might find some very helpfull people on here who could do plenty to improve his product/s

I'll let him use my vehicle as a testbed for his kit if he wants. and do an indepth installation and fitting guide as well as weekly updates on improved performance/running. And I won't even charge him fer using me disco to advertise his kit.

oi i was first ! - you never know he might take you up on that offer.

Having looked at his product he looks like one of the increasing number of people who are trying to get a heater into the market.

I live in Staffs but am very often in Scotland/Skye and have been looking at installing a heater for some months - and i've only not done it so far as i'm yet to see one that is both well designed and well proven.

I quite like the heat exchanger design but i do wonder how long it would take to get upto temp? - and would it not benifit from some assistance from heat input other than coolant such as a glow plug as this would help it reach it's working temp far sooner?

Yer can buy Glowplug operated fuel heaters. They're always on fleabay.

from what i can tell the issue with those is that the plug is in direct contact with the oil so that the amount of heat that is transfered to the oil is limited (and variable) and the plugs dont last very long

Yes I'd heard that as well though I have seen one that claims to be better than the direct contact one's I wasn't paying it much attention at the time but it had some extra dooberies on it.

i'd prefer to have the plug (or other heating element) embedded within a block type heater exchanger such as the sunshine one - the leccy heater is used to boost the exchangers temp untill the coolant is hot enough, then the leccy one can be turned off

this would reduce the length of time youd be running on diesel

mr sunshine - have you tested the switch over times in areas of the country that tend not to get above freezing for weeks on end (such as scotland) ?

i just thought he might actually have some helpfull comments to make - and if he does turn into a "spamming ****" i will retract my comment :)
yer still int sed what was harsh.

accy and roy , bless em, keep this place going with their behind the scenes work. it takes time and money. they recently had to take on adverts to offset the cost, and you get folk trying to make a profit throught the efforts of accy and roy.

it just int right, if he's selling stuff whether directly or using the old avatar method then he should contribute to the running of the site.

if his stuff is any good then he'll get his money back in no time through the sales generated, if its crap he'll get bad rap.

so you tell me what was harsh about my coments earlier?

if his first post was "come and buy my nice veg oil kit" i'd have agread with you, but i'm given him the opportunity to prove he isnt just here for marketing - you assumed he was a spammer, i didnt - it's just a difference of opinion is all

hmmmm ok maybe his first post wasnt very subtle ......

if yer read it you'd see i didn't assume ****, i sed he looked like a spammer, which is different to he is a spammer., unless yer female then you can take it to mean anything you like.
how is it harsh to point out to someone that they could be conceived as being a spammer?

anyway maybe he could comment on the feasability of this

be a shame if he doesnt come back cos i've been trying to find something allmost like what he's selling for ages - whenever i've asked what i think are sensible questions of any of the other heater kit providers they tend to ignore me, which in my eyes sorta proves they havent done enough to prove their kits are actually usable
