Hello.

My dad has just possibly bought a car through gum tree it's a range rover 56 plate. The one thing I'm concerned over is that the guy lives on a oil rig and is arranging delivery through google pay. He pays half before he gets the car then google hold the money until its delivered you have three days to test the car then pay the other half or send it back. To me sounds all good to be true and this guy on the oil rig can't receive anything other than emails. The email sig is a reputable company apparently. Just sounds odd to me I know someone had some trouble with someone out on a rig a while back. If anyone can help would really appreciate it. ( did try convincing my dad to buy a classic or defender first to no avail :(. )

Tell him you have money ready and your willing to wait till he gets lifted off the rig. Its a scam but id play em.

If he's handed any money over go to the police straight away, it won't get it back for him but a lot of people don't report stuff like this because they feel stupid.

luckily he did, and he even rang the company this guy was meant to work for and asked to speak to their HR dept. They asked what is was to do with and my dad said about James Finch. they just turned round and said yeah it is a scam. lol

still in my parents good books saved them £8000 lol.
