Did she do it deliberate to cause damage or cos she thought she was doing the right thing?:doh:

or sugar in her tank or her head in a bucket and body in the river .......

Which model Disco? People should ALWAYS say that at the start.

DRAIN IT RIGHT OUT immediately.

Does the engine even TURN? If it does, do NOT try to start it. Take the wire off the solenoid stopper if it has one. Take off the oil filter and drain it out, then fill it with kerosene and shake it about, and tip it out again, then put it back on the engine.

Now put the sump plug back and FILL the engine with DIESEL fuel right to the top mark on the dipstick. Now TOW the car for a few minutes IN GEAR (use 3rd or 4th) but do NOT start it up. Now drain all the wet diesel out again, and refill with ordinary engine oil. Fit a new oil filter. Tow it in gear again for a few minutes , to flush good engine oil everywhere inside the motor.

PRAY.

See if it will start up.

Been there, done that, long time ago, customer's car, engine survived without a problem.

Point is though that thanks to you, one day someone will perhaps save his engine by flushing the oilways in the manner suggested. That makes it worth it.

Totally agree Charles Y - these type of wind ups should be nipped in the bud if possible - those that want to help will always refrain in case its a wind up and the forum will be the looser for it. There are a lot us who do rely on people like you to impart your knowledge and i can imagine the newbies to LR would be in an even worse state!

Hmmmmmm..... I see, muff wigs. i thought you may have meant that, I just prefer to refer to windup merchants like that as ****S! not **** wigs! never heard the term used before to describe colonials though. U learn something new every day!
