my turbos were replaced last month and my disco stayed in limp mode. Found no faults with the diagnostics. Found a broken vaccum pipe and fixed that. Now between 2000 and 2200 rpm the engine is misfiring then as the primary turbo starts boosting the car shuts down and get engine failure warning on dash.
Any ideas what could be causing that

Hi

hope u don’t mind me saying and with all due respect but a plse and thks always goes along way

few questions if I may , what scanner are u using plse as if it goes into limp mode it should log a DTC fault

plus what year is ur D4 plse and did it misfire before the turbos were replaced , have they smoke tested the intercooler system

assume the garage that fitted ur turbos cant find the error, last question for now, lol, did they also do the turbo drain modification at the same time plse , thks

hope that helps

hi stuart yes sorry my manners. the scanners i used is the Hawkeye pro and the delphi 150 both picked up the same errors after got the van back: temp on circuit b so replaced the MAF there was no errors but still got limp mode. then traced to a broken vaccum pipe above the cv boot on the driver front. now its fine till i rev over 2100 rpm then shuts down engine fault on the dash.
model LR4 HSE TDV6 2012
appreciate you advice

no probs and bless as indeed is always appretiated

If I remember rightly the drivers side is a variable vane turbo and passenger side is a fixed vane turbo

when vacuum is lost to the shut-off valve it will default to the closed position. The position sensor will inform the ECM, which will initiate mono-turbo mode, restricted performance and record a DTC

have u carried out a vacuum test on the hoses plse to ensure there ok , hopefully it’s something simple

could also try swapping round ur Maf sensors seeing there both the same

after checking the Maf and vacuum pipes would go through the live data , ie , to see what % the secondary turbo starts to open in accordance with the engine revs, 0% is off and 100% is fully open

other things u could check both Maf sensors , know it’s quite a complicated system

at the end of the day as suggested by @lynall , is the garage who done the work prepared to have a look at it for u please as I assume it’s wasn’t a cheap job to carry out

hope that also helps

Forgot to mention the primary turbo works up to 2,800 Rpm , over that the secondary turbo comes in

ps, hope u don’t mind me asking but where abouts are u plse , thks
