Hi All

When driving my Freelander (1999 5dr 2.0 diesel) it feels like the turbo is not "kicking in" :(

Could this be the MAP sensor?

I read on Roverron's webpage that the MAf sensor doen not have a effect on the L-series engine in this regard? Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did clean the EGR and it's working, did check turbo hoses and inter-cooler hoses. Any ideas?

Hi

This morning when driving to work I noticed It makes a white/light blue smoke when pulling away from an intersection but not while driving. :(

Any ideas or commits would be appreciated :D

Thank you all ;)

g,day , the turbo on L series is controlled by a wastgate which has a boost presure sensing pipe ( short piece rubber hose) going from the waste gate actuator to the turbo , check that for a split or hole etc.
Can also check all the plastic bits on the intercooler side of things for leaks.

The Maff sensor is only there to controll the egr which is better off bieng disconected and blanked off anyway , Good luck

Thanks for the reply Sandgroper :)

What is the best way to test a sensor?

Unplug it and see if it makes a difference or a diagnostic test?

And anybody knows what the MAP sensor does?
There is a vacuum pipe going from the MAP sensor to the turbo

Please note that if you disconnect a sensor with ignition on, it will register a fault on ECU memory and can only be cleared with Diagnostic equipment.
