SAT NAV radio phone etc I think but not the message centre, I'd have to check to be sure as I only have the module, I have also repaired the TV module in the past which also killed everything.did he lose everything just with a dsp fault? ie did he also lose sat nav?
Yes, but more than one could be faulty so really you need a seti guess the only way iam going to find the module at fault by swapping them in turn for known good ones?
You jest A main stealer will just bill you £2k to replace the lot. They don't keep spares on the shelf, too expensive.its looking more like a main stealer job then as they should have access to a set of new modules, unless i can find a willing donor vehicle owner
Already answered that, you should still have audio with the CD?DVD NAV unit removed as far as I know.if its only one one onit gone i can live with that. just. i have the nav unit now removed from the vehicle. should i still get audio or is this dependant on the nav unit being still fitted ? if i had a deff answer to this it would help me a little
I use contact cleaner and a special glass fibre brush, you need to be very careful with the small pins, they are fragile. Tissue soaked in cleaner and a very small screwdriver can be used to clean around and between the pins which is very important.ok sorry datatek, my heads a shed.could you tell me the best way to clean up the connector pins? i intend to take every unit out completly and try give them a clean. iv found a company not too far away that can test my nav unit, so thats a start
If you cut the pointy end off and add tissue it will do the job, not as good as a small flat blade screwdriver though.i think i can manage that , maybe a wooden touthpick soaked in contact cleaner would work well?
Probably, as I said all along from bitter experience, corroded connectors corrupting signals.now have nav unit, dsp and radio removed from vehicle and connectors cleaned up,still got tuner to do however just having gone for a short drive, message center has come back on , the head unit has lit up with the set up menu displayed, indicators and parking sensors working fine.could be a coincidence i guess, dont know what to make of it? answers on a postcard please
