ok, today lost on board comp , sat nav and audio. pulled the fuses, both ok, but when i put 30 amp no49 back in it pushed the holder back into the fuse box instead of just slotting in , anyone any idea how to get it back out? as thats now got to be my start point. oh and there is no sight of damp in the back around the amp

ok, got the fuse back in , but obviously all still not working, interestingly the indicators are working but not making the ticking sound, does this come from the audio system?

ahh, just put my hand round the back of the nav unit to find it wet! does this mean its gotta be scrap? or can i dry it out?

wait for the unit to power down, remove it, take it in the house and let it dry out throughly first before you write it off..

i think its just the nav unit thats wet, theres no sign of water elsewhere, is there a reset procedure to a least give it a go when it dries out? it was working last night

the one you load the cd maps into
OK, as I said, if that is wet it may be unrecoverable. You have to wait for the light to go out before removing power, when it gets wet, on the one I've seen, the power tracks burn and it's done for.
You also need to check the connectors on all the other units, you are likely to find extensive corrosion.

are you referring to this ?

i undersatnd too that they can get waterlogged.. take it out.. make sure the power light is off before you disconnect it (as that can and does wipe the flash memory in it and you end up with an inert unit anyway). dry it out completely.. if you have any of those silca gel packs wrap those up with it, if not put it in a warm place wrapped in a towel to absorb the moisture and pray to the gods of electronics that it's salvageable.. or its a fleabay purchase for you

oh the light isnt coming on at all anyway, i dont think its been a long term problem, it rained all night last night and i was parked up a high curb ,i think this caused water ingress
