i guess the only way iam going to find the module at fault by swapping them in turn for known good ones?
Yes, but more than one could be faulty so really you need a set:eek:
There must be places in the UK that can test and repair, there is certainly one in Holland that I may be able to report on in the New Year.

its looking more like a main stealer job then as they should have access to a set of new modules, unless i can find a willing donor vehicle owner

if its only one one onit gone i can live with that. just. i have the nav unit now removed from the vehicle. should i still get audio or is this dependant on the nav unit being still fitted ? if i had a deff answer to this it would help me a little

Already answered that, you should still have audio with the CD?DVD NAV unit removed as far as I know.

I use contact cleaner and a special glass fibre brush, you need to be very careful with the small pins, they are fragile. Tissue soaked in cleaner and a very small screwdriver can be used to clean around and between the pins which is very important.

now have nav unit, dsp and radio removed from vehicle and connectors cleaned up,still got tuner to do however just having gone for a short drive, message center has come back on , the head unit has lit up with the set up menu displayed, indicators and parking sensors working fine.could be a coincidence i guess, dont know what to make of it? answers on a postcard please :)

Probably, as I said all along from bitter experience, corroded connectors corrupting signals.

i guess ill know when i put it back together, there was some depoisits at the base of the bm54 unit but the pins were in good order, could have been shorting i guess?
