i guess ill know when i put it back together, there was some depoisits at the base of the bm54 unit but the pins were in good order, could have been shorting i guess?
The deposits are conductive, many of the signals are low level, it does not take a lot to interfere with them. I hope you are lucky and that it works when cleaned up:)

do you mean the 10amp fuse on the bm54 radio unit? i checked that was ok. i dont think the nav unit has a fuse? i havnt done anthing except remove nav unit , dsp and the radio unit they are still not fitted to the vehicle, but like i said most of the other problems have gone away and screen has lit up which really suprised me i thought the nav unit would have to be fitted to get anything onscreen

took the video/tuner unit out today, also deposits in bottom of blue connector. all cleaned up. so now im very hopefull, also ordered water shedder (plastic bag i believe) so will fit that before i put it all back together

The water shedder will stop water from above, what it will not do is stop condensation forming inside the units if there is water present in the compartment.

yer i realise that, i was thinking of drilling a few drain holes and maybe try run some sort of duct from the blowers into the area

result! everything fitted back and everything working! seems it can only have been deposits in the bottom of video unit and the radio unit which i believe is the conduit for power to the dsp either way im a lot happier now . thanx especially to datatek who put up with my fundimental questions. as a joiner electronics arnt exactlly my bag

Great result, shame it took you so long to look at the connectors though:D:D:D

ha, yer, but at least i now know they are all good, clean and dry.just gotta keep them that way now! :) was a good day except my fsr packing up!

My thoughts too....good call on your part Keith to spot it and give him your advice and experiance...

I guess this has further fuelled your 'hatred' of the L322:D

They are not worth the effort of hating, I just think they are a bad joke:rolleyes:
For sure I would never have one, I'd sooner spend the cash on uprating the P38.:)

so you going to knock up some teak connectors instead :D

glad to hear it's all sorted !

it is a very frustrating motor to own, i was very attached to my old p38 only time will tell how much i can put up with :)

yeah but at least there's yoda..

i've got the p38 back to mint, apart from the fusebox which will be ordered when the stores open up next week.

to be honest, with a new LPG conversion, my P38 has everything in it, including factory sat nav, so cant really think what changing it out would actually serve by way of benefit. besides i still like the P38 design.

maybe some nice columbian mahogony ones would look cool!

or you could be the landyzone source for this...
