Land Rover Event in Wiltshire

We are putting on a Land Rover event in August in Wiltshire. It will be held at a local country pub, with a camping field and possibly some trade stands. The event will begin on a Saturday and end on Sunday after some off roading across Salisbury Plain. Dates are yet to be decided, so watch this space. Cost would be around £30 per car, which would include camping.

Initially, I am keen to judge the level of interest. Please let me know your thoughts!!!

I can drive to a country pub myself and meet up with a couple of mates.
I can drive Salisbury Plain for free.
I can stay in a Travel Lodge for £29
Why should I pay you £30?
 
A nice idea but if I think if taking the family out x7 of us. A nice drive pub lunch which we do as and when we can it is pricey on it's own to top that of with landy chat and stands would be a bonus but (£30 plus go go juice lunch and stand goodies) it's a bit much..

Not to mention that you are doing an organised event on MoD land. parts of the plain can be put out of bounds and are out of bounds... I would suggest you talk to DE (defence estates) and Landmarc ( the wardens ) if you are going to take very large groupes across it. Also Would you accept responsibility for persons from you're event going off site and into danger areas.

Don't wanna **** on your bonfire, but many, if not most of us, already do a very similar thing most weekends simply for the cost of diesel/petrol ...

The only differentiation you have is that you might possibly have trade stands .. Wait until you have some definite stands, and that it is indeed going to be an event worth turning up to, before even thinking of trying to make money from it.

I wish you well, it'd be good to have more smaller 'events' dedicated to Landrovers, but to ask for money before having anything concrete is a bit much .. and £30 is way too much for a field behind a pub ... I can site me tent/Disco/Caravan in similar places with heated showers, electric hook-up and running water for £10 or less ...

With regard to the offroading part, there are no costs involved. I also do that most weekends.

I just thought it would be a nice idea to get a group of people together for a social event.

No worries.

visit us at bath and west next Friday Sat and Sunday, your see how we roll we will have a landyzone stand.

Also sales advertising is frowned upon unless your a forum sponsor, spam sandwiches @£30

Tis a lovely idea.......which is why we're throwing one after the next big laning event.....

Camping..............No Charge

Hoping to conjure up a keg or 2 of the local falling down water..........No charge

At least one good meal for everyone..........No charge and I'm damn sure a good breakfast can be rustled up between us.

This is Landyzone and that's just how it is
