Hi. Need help. The upper front left ball joint nut won't undo. The whole thread simply spins. I need to drop the upright to replace the stub axle prop shaft. Inner boot has split. Phil

If you mean joint is turning in the taper then you need to try putting some more weight on it to stop it turning, on the other hand if the nut is turning on the thread and not undoing then thread has gone only option is cut nut off fit new joint.

Give it a good whack back on to engage the taper or cut it off as above, and replace the whole ball joint

Hi

If u can’t get it off, use something like a dremel with the small metal discs , done the same when I cut through my drop links , only took 5 x mins

also if u don’t mind me adding , ensure the suspension is disabled and using axle stands

Know they can sometimes be a sod to get out

plus 1, had to do that in the end , spent ages messing around and then used a Dremel to zip through it

was surprised that it only took around 5 x minutes

Thats great advice. I dont minde Nyone saying anything if it gets the job done. I have a 90 degree air drill and some dremel discs. Also I was thinking of using a nut splitter. I have to buy the koint so I have a bit of time. I'll let you al know how I get on.

It is this joint. The small ball joint at the end if the upper wishbone suspension arm. Looking at parts it looks like the arm and joint are sold as a preassembled unit.
