I'm not familiar with your vehicle but in the past I have used a prybar between driveshaft and gearbox.
D3 upper ball joint , pin spinning ?

See if you can get a broad punch at the back. Dont hit the diff case!
Yea I been clanging under there such a pain in the ass I love the you tube vids that come off in a few taps , I had cold chissel , gone through an extension socket bar , will have a few taps tommorow might have to order a slide hammer and find the tool that hooks behind it and try that but that delays me into middle of next week , nothing goes easy lol

I struggled doing just that on my driveway, so when I did the same job the other day, I took the undertray off and using a longish flat screwdriver as a punch from underneath pointing in from the lower rear of the cv joint, two small taps and it was out, could not believe it as it was an arse last time!
Use a new clip on the shaft when you refit it, also worth changing the diff oil, synthetic 75/90, nowt special.
Slide hammer wont help as the shaft will simply pull out the diff end cv, as it is a sliding type and not the same as the wheel end.

Il try that tommorow it’s difficult getting your arm at a length so you can hit it with some force being wedged under the car it’s only on axel stands but will wrestle with it tommorow .
I only used a large screwdriver and an old knackered 3 lb copper hammer to try and not smash the screwdriver plastic handle.
Ok so off got new shaft in but can only get to about an inch away from the diff , tried hammering with wood , is there something I missed ?
I think I tapped the end of the wheel end splines with a copper hammer, wood is okay but it does take the power out of the hammer blow, refit the old nut so it ii just prooud of the threads then try a couple of hits, a thin sheet of alloy/copper etc will also protect the threads for a blow or two.
Well worth greasing the diff end splines and clip to help it get home, also grease splines hub end when you refit the shaft.
Lightly grease all threads, but NOT the tapered part of any joint.
Just to confirm this has beat me today ! just when I think I’m getting somewhere bang it f…s up , I push the shaft into the diff bit I been slightly turning untill I feel it slip in like 1 cm I assume this is locating on the splines I then took some wood , and metal plate and really have tried beating it in just can’t get it to budge , does it matter if in park or neautral ? Just doesn’t seem right to need do much pressure ? Or am I doing it right and just need smash the **** out of it ?
Take it out again and check the clip is not fouling on its way into the female splines, pop clip off and refit shaft to check it is indeed the clip causing you aggro, a new clip is a good idea.
