Not mentioning any names... but someone else recently bought a Disco and got rid of his trusty Freelander 1. He's now spending £500 per week on it as well as 37 hours labour. I've driven the D4 on and oft road. Nice vehicle but too big for my needs.
Blue ones are betterer.
That is pocket money compared to the depreciation on a D4 over the next 5 or so years.I sold my D3 because it cost my over £2K on parts in the 18 months I had it.
It was lovely, but was a labour of love and did a good job of draining my bank account.

As much as I like tinkering with cars, I think a vehicle of such complexity would require a lot more effort to run than most would be prepared to do. As prices drop more peeps on forums will pick them up and knowledge will expand, to assist fixing them. Electronics doesn't bother me. But the sheer amount of jobs to keep on top of to keep an older one running would make life horrible in the cold weather unless yer can get it inside to work on. Loving it so far. It's about as far from the Freelander as you could get!
The FL1 will be going when I've MOT'd it next month.

cos they is super reliable. Well compared to the D3/4 they are.I looked at the D3 and D4, but decided there are just to many problems with them.
That's why I bought a JEEP
