...and bought a Disco 4
Loving it so far. It's about as far from the Freelander as you could get!

The FL1 will be going when I've MOT'd it next month.
I'll be stalking the forums though... ;)

Nice. A D4 is on my wish list. I'm hoping a D4 will be more reliable than my old D3 was.
Good on you Bukko.
Keep in touch ;)

Hope its a goodun for you @bukko - and hope you got a good loooonnnnng warranty !
It hasn't but I'll be buying one ;)
It's a good one though. A black HSE with black leather and all the extras.
Looking forward to a road trip...

Oh dear @Hippo another one leaves the flock
Not mentioning any names... but someone else recently bought a Disco and got rid of his trusty Freelander 1. He's now spending £500 per week on it as well as 37 hours labour. And soon he'll realise air bags go pop in the night. Lets hope bukko's dun't go the same way.

I've driven the D4 on and oft road. Nice vehicle but too big for my needs. :)

Blue ones are betterer. ;)

I sold my D3 because it cost my over £2K on parts in the 18 months I had it.
It was lovely, but was a labour of love and did a good job of draining my bank account. :(

As much as I like tinkering with cars, I think a vehicle of such complexity would require a lot more effort to run than most would be prepared to do. As prices drop more peeps on forums will pick them up and knowledge will expand, to assist fixing them. Electronics doesn't bother me. But the sheer amount of jobs to keep on top of to keep an older one running would make life horrible in the cold weather unless yer can get it inside to work on. If yer got the cash to do it then they're nice to have, but too big for my needs.

I'd like meat and tatty pie and a pint of John Smiths for my last meal.
