my 1996 p38 4.6hse auto has thrown a complete hissy fit. i got woken by the neighbours at 2 am as the indicators on the car were on solid. ah well sort it in the morning.

so opened with the key, put key in ignition, display said press remote... remote pressed nowt.
tried resyncing key, lock while holding down lock button/ unlock holding down unlock button... nowt.
new batterys fitted to keyfob just in case .... nowt
disconnect battery, put key in ignition position 2,reconnect... nowt.
eka code entered .....nowt
eka code 1515 as suggested on here entered... nowt
all the above tried several times over the last week. :deadhorse:
the rf reciever has been playing up and has had the antenna wire disconnected for the last 12 months or more and been working ok until now, so just to be sure new one fitted (£190 robbin bastids) latest part from island 4x4.still nowt
connected up to hawkeye. becm reports its lhd,( err no its not), manual (err no its not), canadian( err no its not ) trip computer not fitted (err yes it is) eka code 9999 (err no it s not, ive used the eka code before and its not that) wtf is going on its driving me nuts, if i had any hair i would be pulling it out by the handfull.
has the becm gone gaga. or am i missing something obvious???
time to ask for help me thinks. any one still awake :D

by the way i have owned this range rover for over 10 years, used the eka code to remobilise after getting stuck at a shell petrol station, and under a radio mast at a local car park also at an airport. each time with no problems.
also, not sure if its connected but the nsf window one touch has stopped working, window is set so not that.

Sounds like BeCM if indicators came on solid? is the carpet wet under the seat? I'm in LB to if you need anyone to cry into a tea with!:D

Now, Think i'd better jump in early here before this thread runs into 70 odd pages like the other.

It is indeed the becm. The solid state lights are letting you know it's not playing ball anymore & not letting you in, so to speak.

You can hit Mozz at it, but i don't think it's going to help, but is alway's worth a go.

The solid state lights are a diagnostic warning, & this can be repaired, so don't go replacing your becm.

The BECM will produce the effects you describe with low battery voltage. This can also be caused by bad connections, earth and supply and it's also worth checking the fuse box under the bonnet for signs/smells of burning.
Condensation inside the BECM from wet carpet can also be the cause, gentle drying out of the unit may effect a cure.

Thank you for your endevours this morning mozz. unfortunately still immobilized , the becm has lost its sync with the gems ems.
fuse box is ok data, i checked this morning. it was replaced with a brand new one 4 years ago and shows no signs of burning and no dodgy smells.
anyone in the leighton buzzard area with a nanocom fancy trying to help get it running, plenty of tea and biscuts available (maybe even a few folding beer vouchers if you can sort it) and my eternal gratitude, must go and have a lay down now, i think its getting to me :frusty:
