I always thought when that stretched they rattle mine never did
Did in my mini's tho

Data mine were well knackerd the material that rubs against them were well shot I had to get everything including sprockets nothing sounded rattaly At all.

Tensioner? Not seen the BMW stuff, but if it's white likely to be Teflon.

Think it was brown, I tought it was that hardend nylon stuff maybe not .

Not sure Nylon would stand the temperatures but I'm no expert on plastic compositions.

so what parts are needed to change the chains apart from the chains themselves just been on island 4x4 and theres loads of parts chains upper and lower. sprockets ,guides, tensioners but not sure what to order and if i need to get fitting pins

i have just found a set of pins for a jaw dropping £149.99 surly to god they are cheaper than that somewhere i only need them for one job then they will gather dust in the tool chest

Wammers how too has pin sizes
But you will still need camshaft tool expensive isn't it for a one off job some places let you hire then at a cost

This is beginning to sound like a good excuse for a meet for those with the right tools and expertise to make a few bob and others to learn something new.

ive tried all the local diesel specialists and guess what they said a very polite pee off , they said no one has the tools and wont buy the tools as they dont want to do the job as they are a pig to do
