hi all had the rather annoying hot start problem on my P38 BMW ENGINE , looked about on ebay and after asking a few questions took the plundge

rather then spend hundreds replacing the faulty part opted for the kit , few teething problems but this peice of kit really works Hot Starting Fix - Range Rover BMW 3 & 5 series (M51 Engine) P38 DT DSE, Omega, | eBay

thought id post this as the comms between my self and valuefm where fantastic she really knows what she is talking about this product designed and built by her is brilliant and i think if anybody else is thinking about going down this route this is the one, i no longer fear turning of the ignition at a fuel station and risk flatening the battery. really easy instal even i managed, great instuctions and is small enough to slip down the side of the ECU housing . this is a must buy lads and lasses

Be ready to change your glow plugs more often and use a little more fuel. Get it on diagnostics and have the injection pump modulation checked. Oh yeah and don't spam the site.

sorry lads if offended but its not spam , iam new to this game and never thought this would upset any one but the bloddy thing doing what i want it to do, ive just thought if any one wanted to know if it worked i would tell them , it a cheap fix, this vehicle was bought cheap to pull my caravan about 5 times a year so am not spending a boat load of cash to keep it running. if it has its downside well so be it , i will keep an eye on glow plus tho thanks.

If your timing chains are stretched and the injection timing is out that would cause the problem amongst other things. All the fix does is give the engine cold settings. If the pump timing and cam timing are a long way out the chains could be on their last legs. If one snaps you are up ****s creek without a paddle. The hot fix masking the problem will seem very expensive if that happens.

thanks for heads up but as i say was bought for cheap with 12 month MOT so if the worst happens it can go to the big scapyard in the SKY, it will only be used 5 times a year so very little use
