Series 2 Inspiration for interior.

Mi little 2a has had a 3 bulkhead fitted at some point in its dim and distant past. I hate it. Hate the dash hate the cracked vinyl mantle piece. I thought it might but it just aint growing on me. I quite fancy having a play with it. I do like the original 2a dash, or lack of it that I remember from my last LR but I cant see me putting a 2 bulkhead back on.
So I am thinking concept. Retro machismo. Uplifted ambionic LED with raw hide and horse sh1t. The skys the limit urban agriculture. Deep buttoned hessian and chiffon.

We aint talkin spray paint and furry dice here, its a full rip out and redesign.............

Go and stand in a dark corner for a short while .......

THEN get a scrap S2 bulkhead ....chop the ****ty bits off the S3 one and weld the important bits onto the remains ....
Ok It's never going to fool a rivet counter BUT will win you a huge amount of Kudos points with the Ladeez as they bask in your efforts to go retro tastic

I think the s3 bulkhead and vinyl dash is awful too, would love to see a landy interior done in mahogany and leather with axminster carpets etc and proper seals that work

Couldn't agree more. Take out a Defender dash and there's most of an SIII dash behind it. Behind that there's an SII and SI as well. Complete waste of space.

Mine's going to be a bit aircraft and a bit marine, which reflect my non-Landy interests. I bought a 1930s Elgin aircraft clock and have scanned it's face so that the other instruments all get the same font and colours, needles etc. The rest of it will be cobbled up from a bit of an eccentric/eclectic collection of stuff.

What are you interested in that isn't Landy?

I do a bit in wood butchery. Mainly walnut. I do love the SII minimalism but fancy playing around a bit as its so easy. Steam punk was one idea with brass pipework and old pressure dials but I would like to see how far I could take it on the posh side. Standard SII exterior with the usual lumps and bumps but Bentley inside. Just to see peoples faces when they get in.

Nice work Bobsticle, my father used to do nice gun cases for me in walnut and oak. I have done odd bits but never as good.
In my lottery win dreams I get a workshop for my lathe/mill motorcycles. A workshop for Landies/classic cars and a workshop for woodworking.
Now where did I put that ticket.........

Gosh, that's lovely. My skills with wood aren't in your league, but I will be using it in laminated form for structural parts. I'm already mentally redesigning to hide all of my joints in case we ever meet!

I cannot even cut a piece of wood to the right length! I am sure I cut it right then it shrinks when I take it to where it is required.

Bobstickle why not keep the padded shelf as its something SOFT to hit your head on BUT remove all the lower vinyl like I have done regards. Chris

Dominic its all original series three with the lower padding and vinyl removed, the metal then prepared and painted body colour regards. Chris

It certainly looks good. Those areas on both of mine are just held together by rust and vinyl - I was hoping you'd found a source of bottom bits...looks like I'll have to make up my own!

Looks good. Very good. I still hate the ill fitting plastic bits.
A thought just occurred. If you installed a small picture frame on the bulkhead with the top open you could take the chassis plate with you. Naa. wouldnt stop them nicking it.

Possible, but maple is so girly. I think Henry needs bold masculine features to balance my sweet feminine slant.

Perhaps some zebrano with heavy inlay........................... this gives me the orn
