hse 4.6 fuel consumption

so does a thermal cut out mean compressor is duff?

had it plugged in with testbook today and there were 2 faults regarding the fuel
consumtion, they were air flow meter and oxegen sensors.

there where 9 faults with air con which came up as blend moters.
he confirmed that blend motors were all ok and reset the ecu which cleared
all the faults including the air flow meter and oxegen sensors.

he said the fault on the air flow meter was probably because i had it
disconnected. if i still have the problems would i be looking to change
the sensors.

the co test is just in the limit of 3.500

that not bad mine was 9 my oxgen senser are fecked hope fully doing them sunday. has rich smell gone now or still the same?

rich smell has gone until i get round to the exhaust. average mpg are 11 - 13 including
a couple of 20 mile runs. so something is still not right, but it has improved a bit.

the air con problem is consistant now. it always work from a cold start for about 5 miles
then gives up.

i dont think you going to get much more than that i get 14 ish out of 4.0

arh right. i was led to believe that it does 20 on a run ish.
the exhaust is very carboned up. is this significant

20-21 is what most achieve on the m'way, 11-15 if your lucky around town

is there a way to test the oxegen sensors?

been driving around town today and the average mpg has dropped to 9. if i go on a run
this will increase to 12-13.

That sounds about right if you stoping and starting thats about it

you missed at least one zero off that figure!

if you push the little button on the left hand stalk that has "i" on it, it should reset everything (except trip 1) and will maybe give you a better reading.

I reset mine when I first bought it 4 months and 3k miles ago and average stays about 18 - 19.

i have tried all this but nothing changes after the "computing mpg" message it all balances out at the figures i mentioned.

That price may be rubbish, but that's what 3 dealers quoted for the genuine part. My car had a cheapo non-genuine one on already which had gone wrong (like they all do apparently) - that's why I needed a new genuine one.
