whilst travelling around town the average mpg crept up to whopping 9 but as soon as
i hit the lights it just counted down to about 8 . it seemed as though whilst moving it
would very slowly creep up and as soon as i stop it would drop quickly. i reckon that
if i just sit there idling it would just contineuosly drop.

anyway after work i went for the 30 mile run travelling at between 50-60 and by the
time i got back i am averageing 14.1 mpg which is obviously better, but the way it
is behaving is that i burning tons of more fuel idling and i nearly forgot to say that
it is smelling very rich still.

any thoughts or comments

the 2 things to make it run rich are mas and lamber senser it seems that your mas is ok from what you said mine runs rich just going to change my sensers around £70 each

now that would rule out both sensers i think with that in mind i would run it for a few weeks as it not run much over the last few weeks give it a chance to clear the petrol in the system that could be the rich smell. but after saying that when you unpluged mas it still ran and that tells me it rich j

If the aircon works from a cold start, that may suggest either the thermal cut out on the compressor, or excess gas pressure operating pressure switch 1 "cutting the feed to the compressor clutch to prevent damage to the system" as it states on K4 P2 in RAVE:eek:
