Im 18 and got offered a land rover defender 90 county 1993 and its in good cond and i have been offered £1200. Im thinking of getting one but how much does it cost to fill up a landrover 90? Its a 2.5TD. How many miles would i get out of it?

Ta!!

Ummmm this may be a stupid question but why not just put in as much as you can afford each time you visit the pumps?

I havent got it yet, i was just wondering how much all the fuel costs as i only have a limited income (student)

15mpg around town, maybe 25mpg on a good 50mph motorway run. 4.545litres per gallon. A full tank might do you 150-300 miles depending on your driving style and conditions.
If you want economical you can't afford a landy.

If it's a 93 one it'll be a 200tdi engine. You'll get between 25 and 30mpg depending how you drive it. How big the tank is or how much it costs to fill it is pretty irrelevant really just put however much you want or can afford in:rolleyes:

if he's worried about the cost of the fuel i'd love to see the look on his face whens he finds out how much insurance he's going to be charged

buy a corsa till yer 19 mate

You have been offered one  Wish I had, so grab it, dont worry about the miles....... worth every pound you put in! :)

i think the 90 defender is a 9 gallon tank (only ever managed about 46/47 litres when low fuel warning has come on )
with my driving:rolleyes: 230/235 per tank (about 260/265 on a motorway run)

lol land rover, economical, mpg, come on if thats what your worried about ure in in the wrong place. But what it lacks in economy you can go places a corsa cant and have more fun and you not driving a bloodly jelly mould eurobox that every model looks the same and is boring

is it really a TD or is it a TDi? The TD (which may have been fitted for some bizarre reason) gets about 5mpg less, and means the motor int worth what yer paying.

Hi, i got an insurance quote for that landy for £1100. So quite cheap. But think about it...

I could get a nice corsa for £2500 then insurance on top of that would be £1500ish so potentially it could be around £4k! But...
If i get a landy and pay £1200 for it and then £1100-400 for insurance it would save me a lot of money and that money i have saved i can spend on fuel. I have always wanted a land rover since i was 5 so im prepared to make some sacrifices.
