How much does it cost to fill up your landy?

As you may have gathered, wrong question. It certainly costs me more to fill the tank on my Freelander than it does to fill my Ser III 88, but I know which is the cheaper to run.

Yeh, i suppose if im finding it really expensive i can just sell the landy on but i hope that does not happen, i have no outgoings at the moment except insurance and norwich season ticket so i might as well go for it

you say you could sell if to expensive.NOOO landys arent vehicles you can just sell on.if you do youll instantly regret it and immediatly start to look for a replacment.they should come with a health warning theyre more addictive than heroin.and one is never enough

16? PM me your name, did you go to long stratton high coz i did. Cool, I cant wait till i can get a series 2A and restore that beast i love em, not so keen on S3's though.

yer but have been driving on feilds n stuff and off road 4 a few years now learnt in an old 200tdi n if you can drive a series 3 with no power steering and no modern crap and parking sensors n stuff like that makes a small car **** easy although i do find myself when i have driven them thinking im constantly gonna brake the clutch lol

Filled the 110 up last July (not used it since august) .
It was showing a quarter full and it took 80 quid in petrol and 35 quid in gas so 115 squids all together. gulp.

Hi guys

remember when the land rover disco first came out land rover were boasting that the diesel version would do nearly 800 miles on a full tank how many are still getting that ?

graham.

...these two are eivver pikeys or privileged  :p , i first drove my dads Princess on the beach at brean sands, and then bought a hillman imp on his recommendation.

get an older landy (pre TDi) and do some evening work in a local chippy that uses vegatable oil instead of fat. Negotiate including waste oil in your pay, leave in a plastic container for 4 days (the wax will settle) then strain the rest through muslin cloth and mix with diesel(I use 60% oil - 40% diesel incase your not studying maths) hence cheap running. I have been told I can take the front propshaft off for road use to reduce friction and thus increase MPG but I have not tried this so cannot give evidence of results

and kill you IP Pump. the pre tdi ip pumps don't like veg oil in large qty's it's too thick and fooks the pumps if you're gonna use veg oil max 25% oil 75%diesel is what you should be aiming for.

TDi's on the otherhand can happily run 75% veg oil 25% diesel or even 100% veg oil is it's preheated.

If you take the front prop off your defender, disco or RR you'll save loads of fuel because it won't move anywhere. as all the drive goes to the point of least resistance. in this case the front output flange. which not having a propshaft attached will just spin merrily away while the rear prop stays motionless.
