hi, hope im doing this right, i have a question , i have a freelander its my first 4 wheel drive so please forgive me if i sound stupid ha ha, as i was driving in the snow and ice this morning, i was coming up to a roundabout on a well used main road and only doing about 10mph as i had slowed right down , when i pressed my break it made a crunshing noise and went hard and the car carried on going, it wouldnt stop! is this normal?? my breaks work fine the rest of the time, it is a freelander xedi s wagon. Thanks

i know but when im out driving its so good in the snow , i forget that its really icy out ha ha maybe i will just drive even slower but belive me i am going slower than other landrovers ha ha im a very carefull lady driver

I was just making sure it wasnt something i had done to the car, my other car which wasnt a 4x4 didnt make that noise, but i do love my freelander

find yourself a nice big flat open snow covered area to test it's really the ABS - something like an empty car park

also sean i am just learning to drive my freelander!! i dont like driving in the snow but since how i need to go out i thought buying a landrover 4x4 would be safer

My brother has a discovery and he has had lots of landrovers , he said he will take me out in mine if its still snowing at the weekend

Is is better to drive in snow and ice than 2 wheel drive but if ya dont slow down early enough then ya just gona keep sliding, 4x4 or no 4x4;)

that's fair enough, just remember that white fluffy stuff often gives a clue as to what the road conditions are like
