Hi,

I had to replace the rear prop to diff rubber doughnut a while ago, and now it’s all chewed up again – probably only been out half a dozen times…

Any idea what might be wrong?

300tdi disco if it makes any odds…

ask Dorset Vogue - he is the resident expert on donut eating. Or change to a 200TDi fitting.

nice to know I'm good at something

Are you running standard suspension??

I looked at mine, replaced it because it looked bad and the new one lasted about 250 miles. Not sure if it was from a bad batch but ended up with a britpart piece.

Shortly after the car developed a vibration again, so I binned the donut and fitted the inlet flange and prop from a 200tdi.
Turned out to be a UJ rather than the donut second time around

I think my biggest problem is the suspension lift. It seems the donuts dont like the amount of flexing they have to cope with if the car is lifted.

Cheers.

It is +2", and we snapped a rear shock too, so I guess it's related to that...

Don't suppose you've still got your old donut? LOL

Which one,

I still have the original which I only deceided to replace cause it looked iffy and I have the Britpart one I bought to get home with, Only done about 500 miles.

The shredded one got returned to the supplier and I had a refund.

By the way I'm running a 4" lift, +2" springs and +2" blocks with shock drop plates

LOL at edit above.

If the Britpart one is the right price I would be interested :) eGay is my other choice - I would rather be sending beer tokens to someone who would otherwise just have it as a paperweight...
