As i said have searched but nothing comes up!
Am i right in thinking that no software scanner will read anything from disco 1 300TDI,
I have tried the stealer's for EKA code in case alarm packed up and there is no code listed for my 300 there is and i now have it for the 3.9 efi.So how can i get EKA code from my ecu?
ideally i want to program a new fob aswell as get another key
would somthing as cheap as elm do it or am i stuffed :(

nothing as cheap as elm in this case... Hawkeye can do it...and depends on which type of immobiliser has your car cos not all have the EKA function

2 buttons on the 300 the one i need a fob for and dont have eka and only 1 button on the 3.9 efi

Ok for the 300 RemoteKey will supply you with a programmed fob plus they may tell you the eka code from the info you will have to give them,
For the 3.9 there's not a code available as it doesn't need one, and with the single button fob u can program it.

The EKA function (if it exists) can be turned off with tester... for so old cars it's the best option... u can end up crying near your immobilised car cos the old door lock/switch is making tricks while u enter the code.

OK i could go the Remote key way but what is the cheapest/best way of diy and buying a scanner as i intend keeping the 300 until it dies(not so sure about the 3.9)
Is there much to be gained in buying a scanner at all for this type/age of vehicle.
Is there anyone local to Dudley with a scanner who could a test for me with a scanner and show me what will come up?
(God so many questions, computers and cars dont work in my head now where did i put my starting handle for the disco!)

Why would you turn off the EKA facility? if, that was possable, if the fob should fail that would be only way to remobilise the engine, unless u carry a spare fob as I do although I've never had a problem, it's "just in case".:)

If the OP doesn't want the immobiliser system at all then the "spider" can be bypassed.

Could come in handy maybe sometime if you have a/c, abs and engine management fitted there's not much else on a D1.

Its got duel zone aircon no to the abs and no to the engine management so that sums that up then might just aswell get a remotekey fob and spare key cut and leave the scanner for the more modern motors!
Thanks for your help guys

By turning off the EKA u will still have passive immobilisation...and u remobilise it by inserting the key in ignition....and IMO if the door switch is not in perfect condition u will not be able to insert EKA as it's required anyway
