Has this EGR been blanked off?

The EGR valve on my Defender 300 Tdi looks like the attached image. I find no reference to the plate that is present between the valve and the manifold in any documentation, such as Microcat. Can it be that it is already blanked?

if yu check the 2 pics, the first one has been blanked at the EGR input, yours has been blanked at the output.

They both work just as well, but yours is more likely to be picked up by the new MOT regs :(.

That looks like its still in place when blanked they normally look like this

Thanks for the reference pic, mate! Now, when looking real close at it, you can actually see the plate that is present on my EGR (slightly to the left of the upper blanking plate screw). Applying what Mad Hat Man says, it would mean your EGR is "double" blanked???

Does anyone have a pic of an "un-blanked" and untouched EGR valve? (they exist?) To compare.

I revise whot i said....... yours is only blanked if that plate is a blanking plate and not an insulation plate .

I suppose which one I have can only be found out by opening the darn thing up? (which is what I am trying to avoid, seeing the state of those bolts...)

It however seem likely that it has not been blanked off since I bought this Defender (6 months ago now) with only 38'000 km on the clock from a guy who just had no mechanical clue (always stealer treatment of the car during its 14 year of "pre-me" existence).
