Good morning
So after the old EGR wire coming off the third point of the alternator fully melted through my old engine loom I have had to order a new one, it still works fine the loom, but I am worried that long term it has compromised the integrity of it
On my model it came with a factory fitted immobiliser and EGR system. However, both have since been bypassed.
I have now ordered the non EGR / non immobiliser loom and I just wanted to know if this is going to be a straight forward swap over? Just leaving the spider box disconnected? I just wanted to know will I run into any issues with the spider wires chopped at all? Totally unsure from what I have been told all the plug connectors are the same around the engine just missing the EGR connections
From what it seems although the EGR was blanked off the electronics are all present on the bulkhead, with the control unit under the front middle seat. I guess something must have overheated in the remains of the electronics of the EGR system.
From what someone told me who worked at Land Rover at the time, the electronics of the EGR system are NOT fused hence it melting the power feed to it within the loom.
