Can anybody confirm a part number for me ...........

Im about a zillion miles from home and in 3 ft of snow and minus 10 :) and the Rear UJ joint on the front prop shaft has S**t its pants.

Just found a complete shaft brand new on ebay part number FTC4140 (is what they are quoting)

its a '98 2.5 DSE ........... automatic

Think I may have answered my own question - it says manual gearbox on the posting....................
Just found this at a mere 200 quid to me ...... TVB000130

...... and, if I can get the shaft off the beast, does anybody see any problem with driving it ...... apart from the fact its just rear wheel drive then ...

If this is the worst Im going to get Im laughing ........ artic circle next !!!!

Good advice then ................. I'll only need to get around from hotel to shops methinks.
Weather has come right in here so I'm going to be waiting it out a bit anyway, hopefully the new item will be here within a week......... and yes 200 quid is way too much, but when you need one and its right there on the screen ....... get it done.
personaly I would have preffered to change out the UJ's themselves, not exactly a big job, but like I said its minus 10 out there (gets worse at night) and Im not sure how chuffed the hotel would be to have me using the desk as a work bench hahaha

Quite chuffed to say using a spanner and a leatherman I got the front prop shaft off this morning in the hotel underground car park .......... and yes it does drive quite well on just the rears ...... so thanks for that advice.

Just wait for the new bit to arrive now ..........then I can get on my way

just had mine done by local garage, as i didnt have the time to do, charged me £145.! managed to find me a very decent s/hand one.
