faulty solenoid?

well me 8274 has been intermittent working and then finally packed up altogether sometimes solenoid would click sometimes wouldn't

so I bought a hd solenoid to replace the allbright that was on there connected it all up and me mate made some new cables up

and still nothing exactly the same so after lots of head scratching we took the kill switch of which is one of the hd ones with the big clump of metal on the end not a cheap red key one

when we took it apart all 4 copper connector plates had gone black and wernt making contact to cleaned them all up and all is well now

have siliconed the unit back together,but qs is what causes the copper plates to go all black is it just down to water ingress?

Copper does tarnish if wet......................

Hopefully the sillycoont will stop it happening again

Normally black means its been arcing, so a lot of load through a poor connection will do it

And a warn will pull a lot of load
