L320 5.0L supercharged 2010

I have had an intermittent suspension fault for a while now.

Code C1A13-64 - Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery.

It is intermittent but is now happening more and more. As far as I can see the air suspension does work, all 4 corners lower and raise, there are no leaks etc as it will sit at off road height overnight.

Sometimes it happens whilst driving and says 'suspension fault, max speed 30mph' but it doesn't actually restrict you/go into limp mode.

You can force the code to happen by parking up, and trying to put it into access height. It happens almost every time, however if you keep holding the button it still lowers fine to access height.

I am thinking a sensor/stuck solenoid as the possible issue? Do you agree or is there something more sinister going on?

These are the parts I have found.... haven't actually located them on the car yet so if you know where they are that would save me some time!

Thanks

I will add to this that the car was stolen then recovered. Part of the repairs done after recovery was a front lower suspension arm that get bent when they hit a curb or something. The code was there then but as I say has been getting worse

I am not sure of the L320. @gstuart will give some pointers, But have a look at this

I didn't watch just went on the code.
Sounds like the system is due a good look at. Dont forget the drier.

Suspension fault on the dash will (on the L322) just inhibit the suspension from doing changes for a while till it sorts its life out while driving.
But it wont magically go away ;).

Thanks for this mate, I had read about the filters elsewhere but decided because its intermittent it probably isn't the problem but well worth a look after that vid!

Check the little brass coloured filter in the boot area, not sure where exactly but somewhere on the compressor unit. It's the noise suppressor for the pump I think. It blocks from the inside and stops air escaping. My experience is a bit limited with this system but may help.👍

The filter is on the air compressor.

Do you have the AMK pump ? cant remember when they changed.
Hitachi is different if you have it. Lift the lid and have a look see.

Will check tomorrow, annoyingly I believe in the L320 the compressor is actually hidden behind a panel underneath the car and not accessible through the boot like it appears to be on the L322

Ok, It looks to me like this is actually the Hitachi version. Although it doesn't seem to say clearly on it, after some googling the T415Z it only comes up with HItachi, plus I can't see one of those silencers anywhere on the unit. Here are some photos for clarification.

I do have another RRS 2010 3.0 Diesel here that the suspension works fine on, so if you have any ideas, I can switch parts easily to test if it's the problem - assuming it is the same compressor which I will check now.

Yes looks to be Hitachi. (looks like mine anyway)
I dont have the drawings but the Hitachi vents gallery back through the drier out the exhaust if I remember. I am sure on yours the exhaust is remote in the rear inside somewhere in the rear cubby things but dont know where the drier is.
As I said not familiar with your model although its all the same principal in operation.

Swapped the compressor from my 3.0L and it works perfectly now.

Time to take the drier apart and see if it can be fixed.

There's a good chance its all blocked. check our X8R, got my kit from them also the Aluminum drier cap as they are prone to leak between the 2 fittings.

Took the compressor apart, cleaned all parts & filters, lubed the seals and put it back together just been for a drive and its working fine! Will keep going with it as it is until it happens again at which point i'll buy a kit.

It is now raising to off road height VERY slowly, so will check for any leaks I may have created tomorrow but a big step forward

If it’s slow probably compressor getting weak, but it really should go up pretty quick if the tank is full.

What did the contents of the drier look like?

Buy a kit soonest I suspect you will need it soon.
