bolts through bushes can be tricky with a impact gun at times as hammer action requires a solid fitting for the bolt

thks and indeed been reading some interesting threads,

this is what i’m finding out as i’m reading up more on them , feedback i’ve also seen that the bolts rust solid inside the bushes , ranging where some have either used an air hammer , , angle grinder or a recip saw straight through the bolt

other thing ive read that the landy has to go back onto the ground to then finally torque it up so the bushes aren’t under tension

trouble is i believe access is a right pig and hard to even get a torque wrench in there , but after that rear upper wishbone is replaced i will have to get put on the hunter 4 x wheel alignment done

but i know i already know that , lol

 HOW you gunna get a inpacked gun in there Gary ??

no chance , will be leaving that when they put it onto the alignment machine ;);)

will just mark the old bolts to get it back near as possible or maybe even easier spray the bolt heads:rolleyes:

A handy thing for seized bolts in bushes Is a freeze spray. Done it a few times as you can’t use heat for the rubber obviously.. but you can freeze the bolt, which causes it to shrink ever so slightly and I mean microns and that breaks the bond of the bolt from the bush liner

with bush bolts getting it tight when loaded with a bar is enough an exact torque isnt necessary, thin cutting discs are a useful tool

cheers, because i’ve not had to do this kind of job before it’s interesting to learn all things like this

did wonder if the bottom wishbones could be jacked up and then measure it, but looks like most people do indeed drop it on the floor so it’s under load

it could be on a jack with wheel off, though with a thought to some blocks etc just shy of chassis if it slips for safety

have got some heavy duty axle stands , don’t fancy take a risk with this heavy lump

at least if i put the wheel back in and drop it back on the ground i know for sure the wishbone is back in the correct position, well u it’s it’s laser aligned that is, lol
