Hey guys,

I have removed and blanked two EGR valves on Disco 2's in the past with no bother. Although it's a straight forward job, I recently picked up a 2003 TD5 uplift model Disco 2 for my wife. As a matter of practice, I thought I would remove the EGR valve, de-cat and get it remapped. The first job has me a bit stumped (EGR removal).

Because it's a face-lift model, it has the the EGR coolant chamber. Although removing it and blanking off isn't a problem, where would I blank off the two pipes that lead off from the coolant chamber? at their source?

Any help would be very gratefully received.

Thank you.

join them together or route the one which is coming from the oil cooler into the tank from where the other is coming from... that circuit must be left open not blanked cos it affects the flow through the oil cooler, see the flow diagram and you'll understand,(disregard the red arrow it was for other purpose)

Hey guys, Yes, I was referring to the EGR with the heat exchanger - apologies for my poor description!!

Sierrafery - thank you very much for the trouble you went to to try and help me. Due to my poor choice of words, it's not exactly what I was after, but the reply, and in particular the detailed content, was very much appreciated.

brian47 - Bingo!! that is Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeexactly what I was after. Thank you so much. I can now crack on with the job this weekend.

Brian47 - thanks to you, my EGR removal is now complete. Once again, many thanks. Your information was invaluable. Right, next job, de cat, then remapping. :D
