Hi all,
took my egr valve off today and cleaned it (what a mess).I noticed that there was a lot of sludg inside the manifold that the egr bolts to.Is it a big job to take it off and clean it all out and will i need any gaskets ect,and is there any benefits from doing this.Oh its a 2001 TD4 with 150000 on the clock.
Thanks.

Reading through different diesel engine forums shows that many people disconnect their EGR to avoid all that sludge entering into the engine, doing this is of course against the law (I think) or at least against the environment.
