Hi
Made the mistake of trying to wind down me window when it was frozen
and guess what my window no longer works:(.I can hear the motor running but i got no twanging noise of cables snapping. Also i can operate the switch down and then back up again and can feel it pressing against the bottom of the glass is it possible and does it happen that the window has pulled out of the clamps if so is it an easy fix.
Are the door cards easy to get off, also have read on other posts that you mark the window in relation to the clamps is this important to the operation of the window

Yes, its possible that it's come out of the clamps. Press the button to put the window down, then put a palm of each hand on each side of the glass and try to slide it down, if it moves down it's probably come out of the clamps.

Door card is easy to remove, the weather shield underneath is difficult to remove without damaging. Essentially a piece of thick polythene glued to the door frame to stop damp. It's possible to cut a hole in it with a stanley knife to gain access then duck tape over it to reseal. Then its a case of aligning the glass in the clamps and tigtening the bolts.

Happened to my rear offisde window a couple of weeks ago - turned out the regulator was knackered.

It was still under warranty so got it fixed for free :D

If it does turn out to be the regulator they are easy to fix. Using the fix kit is the cheapest option (they are available on eBay). I've also used cheaper non OEM regulators which work well but are noisy compared to the genuine land rover part (but are sometimes 1/4 of the price).

Now all the frost has gone the window now goes up and down ok so i presume the window has gone back into the clamps either that or i am going mad, when it was frozen the window stayed in place and i could hear the regulator going up and down, think i still need to have a to make sure the clamps are tight.
I have never had a car where the windows stick as bad in a frost is ther anything you can do to try and prevent it

It could have been but normaly when it sticks you dont get the sound of the motor running as if the windows are running normal you could also hear the regulator going up and down
