Disco 2 Noise on starting

Has anyone experienced a brief noise after starting a TD5 at the instant before the oil pressure light goes out? Weather the engine is cold or warm I get the same brief noise....how do I describe it....like a deep growl, for no more than 1 second. I drove a friends D2 the other day and that had no such noise on starting.

PS. Is it as difficult as it looks to replace the oil filter...behind the Turbo...who thought of that!

The oil filt is not a problem use strap and let engine cool or get burnt, dont forget the centrafugal one on top its important.
Are you sure what sounds like a growl is not the damper opening on the aircon

i think mine does the same thing. I think it comes from the brake pedal (mine is auto ) and think its something to do with the TC. I read on a post somewhere that the TC does something on start up, might be related to that.

start the car with yer foot on the brake pedal... if your noise corresponds with a vibration in the pedal, it's the Traction Control/ABS doing it's power on test and totaly normal.
